The Works of the Lord
A Devotion

All your works shall give thanks to you O Lord,
And all your godly ones shall bless you.
They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom
And talk of your power.
Psalm 145:10-11

These verses speak of self-examination.  Are you one of the "works" of the Lord?  Examine yourself -- are you giving thanks to God?  Those who are His works will thank Him.  Examine yourself, and, if need be, cleanse yourself of murmuring, for the Lord's anger will eventually burn at the hearing of grumbling.

Do you fancy yourself a godly man or woman?  Glance back at your walk with the Lord Jesus -- what do you see?  Is the path you've trod strewn with blessings?  Are they your blessings thrown gratefully by you at the feat of Jesus?

And what of your daily talk?  What flows forth from your lips into the world?  Do you speak exclusively of things the world is interested in, or do you speak of your Heavenly Father's Kingdom?  Take note this week and determine where your words lead others.  Your speech is a trail, and its wellspring is in your heart.  It is a treasure trail as well; both heart and treasure abide together.

Is your talk, then, of God's power?  Is it of Jesus and what He has done for you?  All His works will do His bidding and witness to His Kingdom.
