I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following Me and has not carried out My commands."  And Samuel was distressed and cried out to the LORD all night."     1 Samuel 15:11

How do you react when faced with obstinate, intransigent buffoons?  All to often I know my reaction, I lash back with a like spirit - anger.  I then walk away with an accompanying spirit - frustration.  A man of God filled with the Spirit of God reacts as Samuel did -- his sadness at sin and a turning away from God's commands was immediately followed by his strength -- his habit of fervent prayer.

Samuel had consistency in his walk.  He demonstrated his regular reliance on prayer on other occasions:

1 Samuel 12:23  "Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by ceasing to pray for you; but I will instruct you in the good and right way."

If we were to be so daring and follow Samuel's example, it would lead to new spiritual insights and many open doors to pass through and bring about the advance of God's Kingdom.  Why, we could even count on an entirely new "wardrobe" fitted by God just for us!

Romans 13:14   But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.

Galatians 3:27  For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ . . .
