A Way Out & A Way In

"For the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed, just as the LORD your God had done to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed; that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the LORD is mighty, so that you may fear the LORD your God forever ."     Joshua 4:23-24

Throughout our journey in this life, we find ourselves in all sorts of situations, some of which we would rather not be in.  At those uncomfortable times, we ask the Lord to help us out - literally out of whatever it is presently chaffing us.  In reciprocal fashion, we also become aware one day that we are enviously longing to be in 'over there' where the green grass is.  To be in that other situation, whatever it may be, seems to be the ultimate perfection we have always sought.

When God made a way for Israel to escape captivity and to enter their promised land, He had many reasons and objectives, but one was paramount in this passage; ". .that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the LORD is mighty . ."

We are always to be humble, unashamed witnesses of Jesus, and while doing so, we will find that He finds a way, in the midst of our obedience, to make His greatness known.  What a bonus!  In case you missed it - our part is humble obedience.  You'll go out of your mind to get into position unless your goal is to go out of your way to be in His presence.
